GRAPHICS & SOUND
You control a kung fu stick figure and you fight various waves of enemies. There are speed rounds and boss rounds as well. There are different colored meters on the left or right. When an enemy is in range on one side or the other, the meter will light up, indicating your attack will connect.
If you miss or fail to attack before the enemy attacks you, you're hurt. A few hits and you die. Some enemies have patterns where they will switch from one side of the screen to the other side. There are various upgrades you can get for your character as well as weapons you can collect and throw.
You are trying to get the highest score with combos as well as finish the level.
The gameplay is super fun and satisfying, and you feel awesome when you don't miss.
Very simple controls that work great. You tap left to attack left, or tap right to attack right.
GRAPHICS AND SOUND:
The graphics and sound are great, though it is simple stick-figure 2-d, it really fits the aesthetic. However, I'm dinging this because the main menu screen UI is a mess.
When I first started, I was confused as to how to start or where to go. There's just way too much going on.
This is a free to play game. Unfortunately, this is one of the most exploitative freemium systems I've seen. It has all the tricks- multiple currencies that you can buy or grind, an "energy" waiting system where you can't play anymore until have enough energy, (or of course you can buy infinite energy) static ads, pop up video ads, and more. Just way over the top, and they're very pushy and annoying about trying to get you pay for things, too.
This is a really fun game that's nearly ruined by the monetization scheme. It's fun enough for me that I keep playing it, but I think many will be put off by the constant nagging to buy in-game currency or watch ads.
