The goal is to move your character along a sidewalk (or past various obstacles, depending on the level) without stepping on the cracks. Step on a crack, and you die. Get as far as you can get set new records and compete with your friends.
There are various different game modes that are all really fun. The most recent mode is a racing mode where you can go against other real people online.
One of the stupidest, simplest games out there, but it's so addicting!
The controls are really what this game is all about. Some will hate how difficult it seems, especially at first.
You control your character by pressing down anywhere on the screen. The longer you hold down, the bigger your step will be, but if you hold too long your character will step too far and die.
You have to press down just right to avoid any cracks (or obstacles). If you time things right and move at the right pace, you're awarded with combo bonus points.
I felt like the controls were tuned just right, though at first it was frustrating-but as I played, I got better, and the controls now feel great to me.
GRAPHICS AND SOUND:
Pretty simple graphics and sound, but it all feels appropriate for the game.
There's hundreds of different combinations of characters you can get, and it gets pretty hilarious.
Some specials characters will even make different sounds as they move, or when they die.
This is a free to play game. There are random ads that pop up while you're playing, and honestly they're pretty annoying. If you're determined to play this for free, be prepared for annoying ads.
Otherwise, if you buy anything, the cheapest which is $0.99, it will permanently remove the ads, so that's pretty nice. You can buy pieces of costumes or sets of costumes, and most you can earn by grinding out the points. You can also buy an upgrade that gives you points twice as fast, but I never felt it was necessary.
This is a silly game that doesn't take itself seriously at all. I think it's a great time waster.
